It was a busy day transfer deadline day at the club as we welcomed two new players to the Ynys Park. 21 year old winger Mason Jones-Thomas joins Trefelin on loan until the end of the season from JD Cymru Premier side Haverfordwest County AFC. Mason who came through the ranks at Swansea City played 18 times for Haverfordwest scoring 4 times. Also joining the club from our near neighbours Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC is Sacha Walters who has previously played for Afan Lido, Port Talbot Town and Carmarthen Town.
Following the signings we caught up with first team manager Richie Ryan to get some background on the new additions to the squad:
” We have made two very good signings in easily the most difficult transfer market I’ve witnessed as a manager. It was fortunate that Trefelin BGC have earned a reputation as a progressive club who play exciting football which always helps when attracting players.
Mason and Sacha are at opposite ends of their careers but will be of equal importance to us in the coming months as we look to finish the season strongly. “
We look forward to welcoming Mason and Sacha to the Ynys Park over the coming days heading into our next fixture away at Swansea University FC. Many thanks to Haverfordwest Town AFC and Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC for their help in making these signings possible.
